ARISE MAGAZINE EDITORIAL;- NOWHERE BOY..!

Amazing week,aye..?? GOOD..!!! ^_^
I am actually surprised that i haven't featured anything on menswear on my blog.When styling,I have found out that menswear can be a tad confusing,but i am always amazed at the result in the end.
During ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK,everyone was given a copy of arise magazine and i found this dope editorial inside featuring Cute Fashion Model,JAMEL GORDON-LYNCH with the title of the editorial called,"NOWHERE BOY".

ESTELLE'S DRESS BY KORTO MOMOLU- ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK.

After a long day of fashion shows at the Arise magazine fashion week,Day 3, Estelle came on stage to cap the night off. After she sang, “ONE LOVE” and “SUBSTITUTE LOVER’,I kinda zoned out. Pardon me, I am not a Fan..!! *shrugs*
 Her dress on stage was lovely. The dress made by KORTO MOMOLU is a two toned green asymmetrical dress and The colour gave her complexion a pop. She paired the dress with a turban and fabulous orange wedges.
As a fashion Styling assistant, I had to deliver the dress back to the designer and got the chance to take few pictures of the intricate details on the dress.
The designer,KORTO MOMOLU is an American/Liberian citizen and project runway,season 5 finalist. she was also selected by the panel of judges to be among the 50 designers who showcased their F/W collection during ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK.

Korto Momolu is an amazing person/designer. it was such a privilege that i got to talk to her and the view from her hotel room was spectacular. Don't be caught pronouncing the name wrong.. its Korto (CUT* TOE) Momolu (MO*MO*LU).

BACKSTAGE- ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK

Finally, Arise Magazine Fashion Week is over. It’s a bitter-sweet feeling, because I do miss the friends and people I met while working backstage, but I am glad the stress is finally over. Do not be deceived by the pictures you see on the runway on Vogue.com and the likes, Major work goes into the whole production of a fashion show. 
Assisting the fashion stylist isn’t child’s play either.  There is lot of pressure on her and as a fashion assistant, you are supposed to make her life easier. Handing out pins and jotting down alterations during fittings, running up and down during the main Fashion show,whisking the models off for hair/makeup and bringing them back to wear the pieces before they strut the runway. Then we run to the next tent to start the same routine all over again for a different designer. 
It was fun being in the same tent with really cool designers, dressing up fabulous models like Flaviana matata, Ajuma, Dab, Agbani Darego, Aminat of ANTM and the likes.
With the hardwork, I barely watched the shows, but I got backstage pictures of some of the beautiful pieces of the designers.

looking at the pictures makes me wanna cry. it was so much fun.
i still haven't recovered from the fatigue of sleeping less than 2-4 hours everyday for a week.
*covers self with a blanket*
