FMA : B is one of the darkest most depressing Anime I have ever seen. And yet also one of the funniest and most intriguing anime at the same time. The story is about Edward (older) and Alphonse (younger) Elric, brothers with the ability called Alchemy As the story progresses you learn that there beloved mother died of an illness wile the boys where just children. Being Alchemists they decided to try and brake the one rule that governs all alchemy. That rule is what is called “Equivalent Exchange” what this means is that in order to transmute one thing into something else you must give something of equal or more worth. And the Elric brothers tried to brake that rule by attempting to bring back there Mother. But nothing they could possibly give could be worth a life. So tragically in the malfunctioning of the transmuting Ed lost his leg and Al his entire body. Ed only a young boy gave him arm save his brother and attach Al’s soul to a suite of armor Ed saved his brother but was unable to bring back his mother. Though all of this he came to the conclusion that no one can bring people back to life. Ed became a state Alchemist to search for the philosophers stone the one this he believes can give his brother his body back. Ed has become one of my favorite characters in anime, from his undying love for his brother to his short complex. This is a grate Anime that I highly suggest to a slightly older audience probably 16+ for the dark intensity of the story.
