Photoshoot!

Posted by mickung
This is quite a diffeerent post, but I thought I’d share it with you all! I’ve done a few photo shoots in the past and I always really enjoy them. I had one a few weeks back with the fabulous David Michael (link to his website here!). David is a proffesional photographer who has his own studio and he is such lovely guy. It was my first proper shoot with him and he made me feel very comfortable and even helped me out with a few photography tips! The make-up artist was Emma Quinn (Website here!) who was also fabulous (It was great to sneak a look in her make-up kit!)
The inspiration was from America's Next Top Model, and one of their recent shoots involving coloured paint/powder splattered on the girls faces for a portrait beauty shoot. My colour was blue! And the powder Emma used on me was Barry M Dazzle dusts!! I’d never really thought of using them like this but it really works. I’m pretty sure she used ‘Bright Blue 57’ and Turquoise on me but I’ll find out for definite!
So here are a few of the pictures; be aware, I do look slighty alien-ish/boyish!

And this was the other model, Tanya, who is completely stunning, and such a sweet girl! Again, the powder used is Dazzle Dust!

Hope you like the pictures as much as I do. Its a tad late but I’ll be posting my February favourites this weekend! XX

Ghost Hunting…

Posted by mickung

This will be a slightly different post – it’s not about beauty or makeup, but about what I’ve been up to and the work that I’ve recently been creating!

Those of you who follow my Twitter will know that for my Final Major Project (in my BA Photography Degree at LCC), I’ve been ghost hunting!  I’ve always been fascinated with the supernatural and ghosts, haunted houses, séances etc and so to spend a whole year ghost hunting for a project has been very exciting for me.

For the first part of my ghost hunting adventure I travelled to England’s ‘Most Haunted Village’, Pluckley in Kent, and I visited the sites of where the village’s 12 ghosts have been seen.  I photographed the ‘haunted landscapes’ on a digital, film and disposable camera, hoping for some proof of the afterlife or some spectral beings to appear in my images!  I’ll show you a few photographs that I took there -

In the photograph below I definitely think I have photographed some sort of paranormal activity.  Can any of you see the ghost(s)???

Many people can see the faint outline of a man with his back to the camera, behind the bridge (supposedly haunted by the watercress lady).  I can also see another outline next to him, maybe his partner?  WHO ELSE CAN SEE HIM?

I also got another picture of a scary face at the same bridge -

And an aura that I captured on my digital camera in a haunted pub, The Dering Arms -

(Please note that NONE of the photographs above have been edited in any way, shape or form other than the red circles/arrows pointing to the ghosts, and the accidental over contrast of the first image– I have not faked any of them!)

Recently, for the same project I’ve been experimenting with performing to the camera (I love doing self portraits as I don’t need to rely on anyone but myself and I can get exactly what I want out of each picture).  I’ve been trying to play around with paranormal activities, such as levitating, which you can see a preview of below -

LEVITATION1

There we have it – a sneak peak of some of the work I’ve been busy creating!  The project is not finished just yet and I only have a month and two weeks left to shoot everything, so I hope you can forgive me for not posting as much latelyI will definitely be posting more often after my degree finishes in June!

A lot of you are probably now thinking – OHMGZ SHE CRAZAAY.  I’m not, well, okay, I am probably just a little mental, trying to prove the existence of ghosts.  I do believe in the paranormal, although I can’t say that I’ve yet seen an actual ghost yet, so I’m becoming less scared of the unknown, which is good.  But hopefully in the next few weeks of shooting I’ll capture something scary on camera!  Please wish me luck finding some ghouls!!!

Have you ever seen a ghost or experienced something paranormal?  Can you see the ghosts in my images?  Got any scary stories?

Sorry I disappeared!

I am truly very sorry that I disappeared for a few weeks, I have been awfully busy with uni and have hardly had a minute to myself at all!  But I am back, armed with lots of new swatches, FOTD, NOTD and reviews for the summer!!

I’ll start off with  (yet another) sneek peek from a photoshoot I did two weeks ago for my university project.  The make-up was stunning and I’m very pleased with the outcomes of the pictures, and I think you girls will appreciate the good make-up skills too!

Hey girls! Sorry that my posts haven't been typical of late, I’ve just been collaborating with so much new, exciting, fresh talent and I want to share it with all of you, and of course, make-up is involved!

A few weeks ago I had a photo shoot with a stylist, make-up artist and a model, and I was the photographer.  Here are some of my photographs from that particular shoot -

Alex, the stylist for the shoot is one of my best friends and is SO talented at fashion and creating beautiful garments.  The silk cream corset in these images was created and designed for scratch by Alex and his talented hands!  If you like his style, be sure to follow his fashion inspiration blog – HERE http://alexantoinette.blogspot.com/

The make-up artist is also fabulous! I can recall her using MUFE foundation, and lots of beautiful MAC eye shadows to create this look.  Her name is Lucy and you can find her blog with her work – HERE http://lucylovesrussia.blogspot.com/

And on Monday, I had another photo shoot with Lucy as the make-up artist, but this time I was being the model!  This work is for Lucy’s uni project and the pictures are beautiful!

I’m ILL!! I hate being ill, I have cold and flu symptoms and they just came out of nowhere!  Does anyone have any good tips for getting over colds quickly? I’ve already stocked up one Vit C tablets and hankys!

Lately I’ve been experimenting a bit with make-up and taking some some portraits!  I have some make-up skillz and photography skillz and I never use them together, so I thought why not!

This first look was inspired by Beyonce’s new video – (Why Don’t you Love me?) In which her make-up is gorgeous and she looks just stunning!
