This is an easy style to maintain with regular trims.

Long Hairstyles

If you want to have a trendy hairstyle, then you should have a long hairstyle. That is and pretty much has been the case forever. Not all women, though, look good with long hair. If you are extra short, for example, you wouldn't want to have really long hair because it would make you look even shorter.

Celebrity women are always giving us great examples of different hairstyles. There have been some recent trends in hairstyles that are worth noting.

1. Katie Holmes is wearing a medium length layered hairstyle that features side swept bangs. She has been seen wearing it with retro curls.

2. Jenna Elfman has been going shorter and shorter with her style. She now has a short/almost medium length bob hairstyle that features side swept bangs and a deep side part.

3. Rihanna is wearing a short hairstyle with lots of heavy layering in the crown are. Different colors of highlights/lowlights are mixed in throughout the bang area.

In case you were wondering, the big, full, long and layered hair style hasn't gone anywhere.  Cheryl Cole recently was seen with this very glamorous style.

Create this style on your own by first applying a volumizing hair product and/or a root volumizer product to damp hair.  Blow dry the hair using a large round brush. Direct all layers down and under.

When the hair is completely dry, add soft waves throughout using a medium barrel curling iron or hot rollers.  To finish off the style and create the height in the crown area, take small sections of hair and gently back comb them and smooth over the top with your fingers.
