This biographical series about the life of the current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, will come out in bookstores in September 28.

It is the first published manga in English by Japanese author, Tetsu Saiwai.

This series showcases the life of the 14th Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetan "Yellow Hat" Buddhist sect, who believe him to be the reincarnation of a line of enlightened beings. Gyatso was born in 1935 and was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of two. He assumed his role in 1950 at the age of 15, when China invaded Tibet. He began working towards world peace and was awarded the Nobel Peace Price in 1989.

It is rated for audiences older than 18, so it should be an interesting read.
