Long Hairstyles For Square Faces - Fall Winter 2010

Regardless of how you see it, there is really no one 'perfect' long hairstyle for those of you with square-shaped faces. Sure, there may be some styles that can lessen the 'squareness' of the face while others do not at all. However, having said that, I have some recommendations for those of you who want to grow long hair and have square faces. The idea is to try and add length to the hair.

• If you want to part your hair at all, I would recommend having it side-parted instead of center parting because it can add 'squareness' to your face.
• Long layers are good to add length to the hair. Avoid shorter layers as it can give the impression of a wider face.
• For those of you who have 'thinner' square faces, long straight hair parted at the side will look good on you. Since it won't really lessen the effects of 'squareness' on your face, it will only work if you do not have a classic square face shape.
• You can try a style with side-swept bangs. This can help soften the squareness of the face. In addition to this, you can also try layering the sides which can help to even out the harsh angles of the face.

The above are but some of the recommendations/tips for those of you who want to have a long hairstyle with square-shaped faces. You can try the above to help you get the long hairstyle to fit you. Alternatively, you can always ask your hairdresser for recommendations.
