Shampoo Tips for Long Hairstyles - Fall Winter 2010

First and foremost, due to the wide availability of shampoos and other hair care products, consumers have often been confused about the main function of it. Although there are claims of shampoos being able to add texture, change color and fattening the strands, the main function is actually to clean the hair especially the scalp.

Having long hair requires more attention and time to care for it compared to short hair. Shampoo is one of the key hair care products that are available in the market. I have included some basic tips to shampoo long hair based on my experience.

1. Pick a shampoo that will fit your hair condition. Whether you have dry, normal, oily or dandruff, there is just the right shampoo for it.
2. The right shampoo should be able to cleanse your hair off all dandruff, dirt, oils and sebum.
3. Choose a shampoo that is gentle on your eyes, skin and scalp.
4. When you shampoo your hair, you should want to get the condition of the hair it was in prior to that.
5. How frequent you shampoo your hair really depends on the condition. For me, I shampoo every other day because I have oily hair. Not only that, I tend to shampoo where the oil is originated from and that is the scalp and only frequently wash the length.
6. Although some of you may think that expensive shampoos are better, there is no scientific evidence to proof that. For me, expensive or inexpensive shampoos work more or less the same. It is the ingredients in the shampoo that is important for me.

Following the above tips will help you to have healthier, more beautiful hair.
