I’ve become a slight fake-tan junkie as of late and although I don’t apply it everywhere, I’m really enjoy looking a slightly tanned shade.  I’ve recently been using the He-Shi fake tan range which I’d heard lots about (mainly from Jess at StarViolet beauty; she loves it!) and so I couldn’t resist trying it out for myself.

IMG_0352

I was sent the three step regime which includes an exfoliating body wash, a liquid express tan and a soufflé moisturizer!

Step 1 - Exfoliating Body Wash

1

This stuff smells incredible, like sweet strawberries!  Its a really nice exfoliator – not too harsh, but you can feel the little crystal bits in it scrubbing away.  I haven’t and probably won’t use this on my face although it says that you can, just because my skin is acne prone anyway and I’m weary of using fragranced products that may irritate it!

Step 2 - Liquid Express Tan

2

I found this tan is super easy to apply because its a brown liquid so you can see exactly where you are putting it, which is good for people like me who are forgetful and don’t realise where they’ve missed.  It applies smoothly, doesn’t smell at all and sinks into the skin really nicely.  It doesn’t take too long to dry on the skin either, around a minute or two and your ready to go.  The tan develops over a few hours into a lovely golden which you can see in the pictures below.

Step 3 - Soufflé Moisturizer

3

I love this moisturizer.  It hasn’t got any actual fake tan in it but it helps your tan stay on longer because of the good moisturizing ingredients such as like Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, etc.  This smells lovely, sinks into your skin really nicely and also gives a nice matt finish to your skin which is nice, it makes the skin look really soft.  I’ve been using it daily all over (even without the tan) and it hasn’t irritated my eczema at all which is a plus!

What I think -  I’m really happy with the results – as you can see above its quite a noticeable colour difference but still natural and glowing.  It did go slightly streaky in some places – on my knees and neck area but it wasn’t too bad.  It is my fault because I’m terrible at applying it and tend to dance around slapping it on with my mitt not really paying attention, which I need to stop doing!  I applied this a week and a half ago and I still have a slight colour now which is nice.  Something else I liked about this was that their is hardly a smell in the fake tan and it didn’t transfer onto my pyjamas/bedding after I had applied it.

Please do take extra care when using this though – because I wasn’t expecting the tan liquid to be so ‘liquidy’ it went everywhere when I first applied it – note the change in bed sheets above.  Thankfully the spill did wash out of my white sheets so its not too much of a problem.

The Exfoliating Body Wash is £12, the Express Liquid tan £21 (150ml) and the Soufflé Moisturizer £12.50.  You can get all three products at the moment here for the special offer price of £29.99, along with the mitt which is great value for a starter pack with the whole regime in it, I think and you can buy it all on their website here.

Have you used He-Shi before? Do you think the colour suits pale skin?

Beau Bronz Fake Tan!

Posted by mickung

So you girls probably now know that I’m as pale as casper and I love it.  BUT, that doesn’t stop me wanting to look naturally bronzed and golden every now and again.  I have steered clear of all tanning products since my last tan review (which you can read here), which bought me up in terrible eczema after.  However I decided to take the leap and try out a few fake tan products from the Beau Bronz range.

1

One of the main reasons I decided to try this range was because of their great company values and the fact that the gradual tans are free from parabens, harsh chemicals and alcohol, and each solution is 95% natural – which sounds perfect for sensitive skin like mine!

I’ve been using a starter pack which includes a hydrating spray exfoliator, and three tanning solutions; 1 for everyday use (also can be used as an after sun), 4 Medium for a natural glow and 8 for a golden bronzed look.  I’ll show you through each step and then reveal the results!

STEP 1

x 167

Use the ‘Exfoliese’ on bare skin!  The spray is made from natural fruit acids and aloe vera and hydrates the skin as well as removing dead particles leaving you ready for tanning.  I was nervous about this making my skin irritated and itchy but it was fine – much less hassle than a normal messy body scrub (TBS Raspberry Scrub, I’m looking at you!).  I sprayed this on my legs and arms and removed it with a towel in circular motions to help scrub.  This smells really nice, natural and fruity.

STEP 2

 IMG_0179

I applied the number 4 ‘Advanced Medium’ gradual tan all over my legs with a little mitt.  Again, it smells really nice, not at all like that weird mushroom smell you get with other fake tans.  On the beaubronz website it says this is perfect for English Rose complexions, which is great for me.  One little niggle I had about this was that once you’ve rubbed it in, you can’t see where you’ve already put it, which is difficult for someone forgetful and clumsy like me, but I thankfully managed to apply it evenly.

STEP 3

I then applied number 1 all over my arms and on my ankles and wrists.  I was told that you can fade #4 out into #1 to give a more natural tanned appearance.  Again, I couldn’t tell where I was putting it, but it didn’t take long to cover the whole surface area.  You can also apply #1 daily to keep your tan topped up.

RESULTS

So, after those three simple steps, all I had to do was wait for my tan to appear.  Here are the before and after pictures!

beaubronze

^ The palest part of my arm compared to my new tanned legs!

WHAT I THINK

I LOVE the results!!  I was expecting to go a nice shade of tangerine but instead I feel like my legs looked naturally glowing.  It doesn’t look orange in the slightest in real life and I’m very happy that I now know that I can use a product to make me look naturally tanned.  The smell doesn’t linger on the skin much after application and didn’t transfer onto my white sheets which was good.  And I’m most happy to say that my skin didn’t react at all to this tan - It didn’t irritate my eczema at all which I’m over the moon about.

So if any one has sensitive, irritable skin then give this a try, I’d definitely recommend it. When I run out of my travel sizes I’ll  def be purchasing a big #4 to see me through this summer!  If you wanted a darker tan – then I’d recommend #8 which is a darker more intense tan shade.  I love how Beau Bronz accommodates for all skin types and colours – something quite rare in beauty companies!  Each full size product retails at about £23, which is cheaper than St Tropez and around the same price as Xen Tan I believe, so I think its quite affordable.  Thumbs up from me!

Have you tried Beau Bronz?  Which fake tan products do you use? XX

Please note I was given these samples for free but all opinions are honest and respectable

My Hair Timeline!

Posted by mickung

I’ve always wanted to do one of these and the time has come!  I have been through quite a few different hair colours and looks and I’ve enjoyed digging through my old computer files to find pictures of them all!

So my natural hair colour is a mousy blonde – I haven’t had natural hair for seven years now so I can’t imagine it suiting me at all but I’d like to go back to a more natural honey beach-babe blonde soon.

Baby! – A natural blonde with a cute little bob!

lillme2

Aged 15 – My hair was reallllyyy long!  And it was all natural but I used to use a wash out red tint every now and then.  I really like this hair colour actually!

budsamara2

Aged 15 - Haha, how cringey!  This was just after I’d used a wash in red tint – it lasted about a month and I thought I looked well cool!

woshh

Aged 16 - I AM NEVER GOING TO LIVE THIS DOWN.  Please girls, never ever do as I did and try and do highlights yourself at home.  I am so embarrassed about these pictures!! I did this the day before I went on a school trip to Prague so I didn’t have time to change it.  I basically used a hairdryer to warm up the bleach on my roots and this is what I was left with. arggghh!!

May Download 051 May Download 052

Aged 16 – This was a while after I first bleached my hair (my friends and I did photo shoots in each others bedrooms for fun!).  I dyed the underneath of my hair black and I let my friends chop short layers in to give my hair some volume.  Once I was this colour I felt that I was finally ‘myself’, I didn’t feel the need to change it anymore and I felt confident and really happy in my appearance.

Aged 17 – Obsessed with Mary Kate Olsen, I decided one day at school that I wanted to copy her and go brunette (as she was at the time).  I ran home from school and dyed it and regretted it instantly!  I wasn’t too clued up on makeup although I loved doing smokey eyes, but I just had no idea how to wear makeup with this colour!  The blonde made the smokey eyes look good but I didn’t know how to wear it being a brunette.  I wish I’d had learnt to fill my brows in etc because I think it would have made me feel so much better!

IMG_0042 1 (2)

Aged 17 – I went back to blonde a month later!! I couldn’t resist lovely long blonde locks and bleached it.  I used a toner as well to take the orange out, but it wasn’t a very nice blonde, more of a dirty blonde.  I kept the brown underneath my hair.

IMGP2854 156138888_l

Aged 19 – Still blonde, I decided I was bored so I let my friends cut my hair shoulder length!  It was like a fresh start and was in much better condition afterwards!

l_e7d239a44a36bfe7e8a5e193b88ba055 n612580544_1536934_6496

NOW! (Aged 22) – My hair is in good condition despite bleaching the roots once a month and I’m very happy with it.  I don’t have any layers as I let them all grow out, and I decided to let my natural hair colour grow out underneath so that I could see what it looks like now!!  (You can see that natural colour in this post).

I do think that I need some layers cut in because often my hair looks very flat, but I’m too scared to go to a hairdresser!

1

All in all I’m really happy with my hair, but I can’t help but wonder what I’d look like with natural, beach blonde babe hair, which one day I will do (when I’m brave enough!).  I think I get judged quite a lot when I first meet new people because of my hair colour, which I don’t like, and I think I might get treated a bit more seriously with natural coloured hair!

There you have it!  My entire hair timeline, I hope you enjoyed it and had a good laugh at all my hair mishaps!!

Prive Haircare

Posted by mickung

I’ve been using a few products from the Prive haircare range for about a month now and I’d like to tell all of you girls about it!  I was introduced to the range at a Beauty speed dating event last month and learnt a bit about the products and I’ve come to really adore their product and ingredient ethics.

IMG_0448

Reparative Shampoo #6 and Conditioner #14 – Both designed for chemically treated or coloured hair, which is exactly my hair type.  They work to cleanse, rejuvenate and repair the hair.  The shampoo lathers up well, and is easy to apply evenly and the conditioner feels soft to apply to the hair and even softer to wash out.  Shampoo contains a Herbal Blendof Aloe, Evening Primrose, Heather, Jasmine and Orchid – but does unfortunately contain SLS, however it didn’t irritate my scalp at all.  The conditioner contains - Ginseng Root Extract, Rose Hips Fruit Extract, Blue Green Algae and Corn and Rice protein.

Leave in Treatment #24 – I’ve been using this as my leave in conditioner instead of my beloved L’Oreal one and it surprised me by doing the same job of detangling my hair whilst making it feel super conditioned and soft.  It somehow makes me feel better that I’m using more natural ingredients on my bleached hair than the ones found in my L’Oreal conditioner.  Contains Aqueous Herbal Blend of Aloe, Comfrey, Kelp, Spirulina and Honey.

Shine Serum #52 – This has got to be my favourite product out of the bunch, and I featured it in my November favourites.  I just adore it, how silky and soft it makes my hair feel and how it doesn’t leave it looking greasy or lank.  I apply this to my hair when its dry or damp, whenever I feel basically and I mainly focus on the tips of my hair, where its most dry and it gives the impression that my hair has never seen a bit of frizz in its life.  Love it!

Thermal Protection Detangling Spray #30 – I don’t really use heated gadgets on my hair because I’m worried about damaging my hair even more, so I’ve been using this mainly as an extra detangler on the underneath of my hair which is most prone to matting.  It makes hair easier to comb through and I know this will last me ages and I only use around three spritz to detangle!

Concept Vert Volumizing Froth #110 -  This stuff is quite hard to get used to but I’ve had loads of fun experimenting with it.  On the website they call it a ‘revolutionary non-aerosol mousse’.  You literally need the tiniest bit, about the size of a pea, you rub it around in the palm of your hands and style with it!  I’ve been using this near my roots to give some volume and it doesn’t leave my hair greasy or hard/sticky.  I haven’t had a chance to do a gorgeous up-do yet but when I do I’ll use this to style and let you know how it goes.  Contains Acai and Babassu oil.

before after

Before and afterBefore was obviously before I had used any Prive products, and After was taken after I’d used the range to wash my hair around three times, and with the serum, detangler, and leave in conditioner.  You can tell that afterwards my hair looks a lot more shiny and silky soft and a lot less frizzy.  Before my hair was hard to brush and comb through but its so much more manageable now.  Please note I didn’t straighten my hair in the after pictures either – it had dried naturally like that.

Smell of the whole range– All the products smell basically the same, like very fresh, floral, green smells.  Very natural yet clean smelling, which I think is great because men won’t be afraid to use the range either.  The smell doesn’t linger on after you apply the products so they’re not overpowering, which is also a bonus.

IMG_0437 IMG_0453

What I think – I’m really impressed with my before and after pictures and its great to see and feel a difference in my hair now.  Once the products run out I will definitely be purchasing some more, especially the serum, leave in conditioner and the reparative conditioner.  I love that the range is eco-friendly and that all the packaging is recyclable and that the products are sulphate and paraben free and do not test on animals.

You can read up on the Prive range on their website here - http://www.priveproducts.com/index.php and you can buy the products in selected salons in London and online here - http://www.luxuryhaircare.co.uk/

Can you see the difference in my hair now? Have you ever tried the range?

I got my eyebrows did!

Posted by mickung

I have the bushiest, fattest, most caterpillar-like eyebrows out of all my friends, and although I quite like them, I’m way too scared to do anything other than occasionally pluck the strays.  I really believe that eyebrows are so important when it comes to looking fabulous and they really shape your face and complete any look.

The other day I had my first ever eyebrow shaping experience – can you believe I waited 22 years to get my eyebrows fixed?!  I met the lovely Jenna Treat at a beauty event in London and I can tell you now, she’s amazing!  She made me feel completely relaxed and everything about her is fab – her amazing Canadian accent, her bubbly, fun personality and the fact that I instantly felt I could let her fiddle with my brows.

I asked her what she would do to mine and she said that my brows were lovely and didn’t need much work, albeit a bit of evening out and shapening.  I circled the problem areas that she mentioned to me below – e.g an extra tuft of hair on my right brow, not enough arch on the left etc.  I also showed her the end of my right brow which ends quite abruptly, due to me stupidly over tweezing a few months ago thinking they were strays and she said that they should take around 7 months to grow back, so I should just fill it in until then.

problem areas

I agreed with her and let her get to work – she used a hot wax on a wooden stick and applied it to the areas and gently waxed – and it didn’t hurt at all!  I surprised myself by not flinching and I let Jenna work her magic, it almost made me fall asleep I was so relaxed.  After she waxed and tweezed she added a tiny bit of brow powder to the end of my right brow to fill it in and showed me my new look in a mirror.

2

Ahhhhhh I LOVE THEM!!  I have never been so happy with them, ever.  How great do they look?!

3

I am so so happy with my new brows and I vow to now keep them in good shape!

You can visit Jenna at Real Hair salon, in Chelsea, London (salon website here).  I thoroughly suggest going to her if you’ve never had your brows waxed before, I've already recommended her to all my friends and will be popping to the salon next year once I need another bit of shaping!

How do you manage your brows?  Ever had them waxed?

I haven’t yet written many posts on skincare yet, but I have a few posts planned on my favourite skincare products/what I’m using at the moment, but before I can start telling you about that, I really need to tell you a little about my skin and its history!  After all, we all have different skin types and what's suited to me, may not particularly suit you, so this will be a brief history on my skin type.

Ages 1-14 – Perfect skin, never had any problems!

Ages 15-18 – Good skin, but had the occasional spot.  Didn’t use many facial products apart from spot creams, I never took my make-up off but somehow my skin was lovely!  I guess my skin was kind of dry as well, it was never oily.

Age 19 – Took a turn for the worse.  I just started getting into skincare and I wanted Clinique's Three Step Regime for my 19th Birthday.  I went to the counter with my Mum, got matched up and bought the regime for around £70.  Two weeks later, my skin was the worst it had ever been in my life.  I can’t describe how bad it got, my skin was red, irritated and full of spots.  I stopped using the products immediately.

Ages 19-20½ – Worst skin ever.  I was covered in red pimples and spots.  I had big spots, under the skin that had about another three spots inside.  How is that even possible?  I had just started my foundation course in art, and the following year started my photography degree and I feel like I became a shell of myself.  I wasn’t confident, I felt disgusting and was so upset that my lovely skin was now ruined because of Clinique – the spots never went after I stopped using it, they just got worse.  I still loved make-up and skincare so I was always trying to find something to take my spots down, I used Bio-oil for a good six months to no avail, I used an Aloe skincare range, I tried lots of products.  Wearing make-up really accentuated my terrible skin, but obviously that meant I just wore more.  I also had really terrible dry skin this whole time, meaning my skin was flaky as well as spotty and I always needed moisturizer to help.

Christmas Eve 2008 – I decided I had had enough and at 6pm Christmas eve I trotted down to my GP and demanded help.  He was stunned at how terrible my skin was and said that I should never have waited so long.  He was pretty shocked at how disgusting my skin was and prescribed me with the antibiotic Doxycycline.

January – March 2009 I was on Doxycycline for three months and although it helped slightly, my skin was still bad.  I lost a few spots but my skin was still red and grose.

March – June 2009 – GP then prescribed me Minocycline, another antibiotic to help clear skin.  This pill saved me!  Wonder product, cleared my skin up within three months.  Finally my skin was back to normal.  I had never been so happy.

July 2009 – Went back to GP to get more Minocycline because I was worried that once I stopped taking it, my skin would get terrible again, but for some reason they prescribed me Oxytetracycline. I took this for a week but it made me really ill, sick ill, so I stopped!

August 2009 – Present Day (Oct 2010) (Ages 21-22) – Very happy with my skin.  It isn’t perfect by any account, I still get spots, especially when I am stressed, or if I start dating (I always get spots when I meet guys! Haha!) but after all I’ve been through I am just SO grateful that it is relatively back to normal.  Nowadays if I get a spot I don’t panic, I just try to cover it well and I try not to touch it at all.

My Skin Type – I’ll be honest and admit that although I work part time as a skin-care consultant and can easily tell what other people’s skin types are, I’m really not sure what my own skin type is!  My skin has started producing more oil since stopping the pills which I’m happy about, but my skin also always feel tight after washing.  So I guess that gives me combination skin? Except I’m also acne prone and also get irritated skin with certain products, so its sensitive as well.  Basically I have every skin type going? Weird.  If any one is similar, do let me know!

Pictures -

When I started taking Doxycycline, I started taking a picture of myself everyday on a film camera, as a project to see if my skin got any better.  I gave up after two weeks when I wasn’t seeing results but was left with a reminder of how bad my skin once was.  Whenever I feel down about my skin I look at these images and instantly feel better.  Bear in mind, my skin was worse than this – I had already started taking pills at this point -

21ST BDAY! 053

My 21st Birthday, with my parents and clear skin!!!

(You can see my skin as it is now in my recent foundation post – HERE!!)

There you go, my skin history!  Sorry it was slightly wordy, but I felt I needed to let you girls know 1) What my skin is like for future reference, once I start reviewing products and 2) That if you have crappy skin, then don’t worry, you can overcome it and it will always get better!! I’m so much happier in general now that my skin is better.  One things for sure, I am NEVER using a Clinique product again as I feel that that is what started the whole ordeal.

My next skincare post will be on what I have been using for the past two years to keep my skin in check, so stay tuned for that!

Has anyone else been through a terrible acne phase?  What got rid of it?

Who, like me, always has a problem of finding a decent foundation?  I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I’m glad to say have found my Holy Grail foundation which I will continue to use until it gets discontinued (which I hope never comes).  On my quest for the perfect foundation I picked up a few others and I will review them all today and swatch for you.

L-R - L’Oreal Paris Infallible Long Lasting Perfecting Foundation in Porcelain, MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15, Revlon Photo Ready in 002 Vanilla, Boots Botanics Quench Your Face Foundation in 10 Almond

My biggest problem when looking for the perfect foundation is the colour.  I am very pale and most make-up brands have completely ignored us Caspers and haven't catered at all for us in the foundation department.

What I look for in a foundation -

  • COLOUR – It has to match my skin perfectly, meaning it has to be pale, I don’t want to look like a tangerine.
  • COVERAGE – I want the foundation to even my skin tone out.  I don’t want to look patchy. (Not too worried about it being able to cover spots as that's what concealer is for, right! and I always use concealer.)
  • FORMULA/finish – I do not want to look cakey.  A big no no.  Nor do I want to look oily.  I want my skin to look like skin – natural, silky and dewy in certain weathers.  The formula is a big deciding factor for me.
  • PRICE – I don’t mind paying £25 for a foundation, but only if it really is the most amazing, perfect foundation ever.  If it has faults then I’m not blowing my hard earned cash on it.
  • SPF – I obviously would prefer a foundation with SPF.

I will review each foundation in each of these categories so that you know exactly what I think about each.

  • COLOUR – I’ve actually been really surprised with this foundation.  When I first bought it I discarded it thinking it was too dark and orange, but since coming back from holiday with a bit of colour I’ve been using this everyday!  The colour is almost perfect for my skin after holiday and can always be lightened up with my powder.  You can see in the pictures above that this gives me a really healthy colour and glow!
  • COVERAGE – Really good medium coverage, again, I’m impressed.  Evens my skin tone out and covers blemishes well, although leaves them looking a bit dry, so moisturize spots before hand.
  • FORMULA – I really like the formula of this foundation.  Nice and creamy and quite silky, applies really well to the skin, sinks in nicely, doesn’t dry my skin out.  Makes my skin look glowing yet natural.  Many people have moaned about a sparkle in natural light, but I haven’t noticed this at all.
  • PRICE – Retails for £12.99 in Boots.  When I first picked this up I thought it was quite expensive and didn’t realllly want to part with the cash, but I’m glad I did.  I’d say its worth the price and I guess its a lot more affordable than high end brands.
  • SPF – The highest SPF out of the bunch, SPF20!  Fabulous!

L’OREAL INFALLIBLE

loreal

I’ll mention now that this foundation is my favourite.  I’m on my third tube of this and it just gives me everything that I want out of a foundation.

lorealba2

  • COLOUR – This matches my pale skin perfectly!  I was so surprised when I tested this out in store and I can’t express how happy I am with it.  Its pale but it doesn’t make me look ghostly or colour-less.  Perfect for winter and spring for me.  I can always add bronzer to add colour!
  • COVERAGE – If you have lots of pimples and are looking for a heavy coverage foundation, you won’t like this.  The coverage evens my skin tone out perfectly but isn’t thick enough to completely banish red spots, which is why I always use a concealer with it, just on the areas that need it.  Its has a nice light coverage which is perfect for smoothing out.  (No concealer used in the pictures above though – just foundation in those pics!)
  • FORMULA – I ADORE the formula of this foundation, it is so silky and thin and just perfect, I can’t really explain it.  It isn’t at all thick or runny, its feels like a very light cream silk that blends really well into the skin, whilst also leaving me feeling moisturized but never greasy or oily.  It almost dries as a powder which feels really nice.  I can’t find any faults with it.
  • PRICE – Such a bargain at around £12, I can always afford to grab this when I run out.  Great price, affordable for a great foundation.
  • SPF – Includes SPF15, what more could I ask for!

On the bottle of this foundation it states that it is a ‘Long Lasting Perfecting Foundation’ that ‘lasts 16 hours and fights the signs of make-up meltdown’.  I never bought it for this reason and only just noticed that it stated this not long ago, but I don’t agree with it.  This foundation is perfect, but I’ll admit it doesn’t last all day, which is why I always carry around a tiny concealer and powder for top ups.  I kind of wish that it didn’t state this on the packaging so that people wouldn’t be let down by that statement.  It lasts well, but not all day.

  • COLOUR – SO disappointed with this foundation. Its such a shame and it angers me that my NC15 concealer matches my skin perfectly – whereas this is the SAME number, but SUCH a different colour.  Such a letdown.  This makes me look like I’ve been tangoed good and proper.  Foundation line is clearly noticeable no matter how much I blend.
  • COVERAGE – Maximum coverage.  If you have lots of pimples and uneven skin tone this would be perfect for you.  It covers all blemishes really well and almost makes the skin look airbrushed.
  • FORMULA – Very thick and creamy and almost cakey once on the skin.  I guess you’d expect that from a high coverage foundation.  If this foundation was the correct colour for me, I’d wear it on special occasions where I wanted perfect, almost fake looking skin.
  • PRICE - £19.  I think this is very expensive for a foundation, but maybe I’m saying that cause I'm biased because of the colour.  This is definitely worth having if your going to get your moneys worth and use it everyday but it was a waste of money for me, personally.
  • SPF – SPF15.

    macba3

I’ve included this extra to show how dark it is, in natural light.  You can clearly see a orange line but my hair/ear.  Covers blemishes well though.  For the palest foundation in MACs huge collection, I think this is totally unacceptable!

    BOOTS BOTANICS

  •  boots

    bootsba2 bootsba

  • I picked this up in Boots Clearance a while ago ( I think it may have been discontinued or repackaged?) as I couldn’t believe that it was so pale and needed it, impulse buy, and I’ll admit that I haven’t used it much as although the colour is perfect.

  • COLOUR – Great colour, lovely and pale, suits me well.
  • COVERAGE – The coverage of this is quite light, I’d compare it to that of a tinted moisturizer.  It gives a natural coverage, but you can still see your skin underneath in – I think it just evens the skin out a bit.  I actually quite like this as a beach/holiday or uni/work foundation as its natural and light and affordable for everyday use.  You can see in the pictures above there are a few areas around the chin/cheeks/forehead where you can still see red blemishes.
  • FORMULA – The formula of this is weird! Not weird, just quite watery and runny, which I presume is down to the natural ingredients in it.  Its very runny and finishes quite dewy, which is very nice but I feel as if it sits on the skin quite a bit because of its formula.
  • PRICE – I have no idea what this retails for in store but I picked it for about £2, which is good but probably no good if its been discontinued! (I apologise if it has!)
  • SPF – SPF 12! This foundation has added ginger and jojoba to help moisturize.

There you have it! My four foundations.  After doing this whole post I realised I have a GOSH Velvet Touch foundation as well which I completely forgot to include, so if anyone would like to see that then comment below and I’ll write it up in a separate post!

    What do you think?

Are you disappointed with MACs colour range?
