Considering how Crunchyroll started O_O, this news was surprising and ironic to say the least:

Crunchyroll and TV Tokyo have issued a lawsuit against 13 YouTube uploaders for allegedly illegal distribution of anime episodes, according to a copyright infringement complaint filed on May 11 and served between July and September. Crunchyroll and TV Tokyo are seeking reparation for "great and irreparable injury that cannot fully be compensated or measured in money" because of the defendants' allegedly unauthorized copying, uploading, and distributing via YouTube of multiple Naruto, Naruto Shippūden, and Bleach episodes.

Based on their YouTube subscriber information, the defendants reside in the United States, Japan, Canada, Denmark, and Hungary. Crunchyroll maintains its main offices in California (as does YouTube), so the suit was filed as a U.S. copyright violation in the Northern District Court of California. For the purposes of the lawsuit, TV Tokyo is giving Crunchyroll legal permission to act on its behalf in order to "permanently remove the illegal uploads of infringing parties from file-sharing services and to obtain legal relief against infringers."
Crunchyroll also issued a statement in which they seem to back down, given that they don't support or endorse legal actions against anime fans and viewers. For them, "they have identified a few specific accounts on YouTube which were responsible for over 200 million unauthorized streams of our licensed content. These accounts were owned by repeat uploaders who continued to illegally distribute licensed shows despite receiving multiple DMCA takedown notices. In compliance with YouTube's TOS, filing a formal legal complaint was a necessary step in order to keep these illegal streams off of YouTube."

However, is Youtube the place to watch streamed anime episodes anymore?

Past Tense Emo

Posted by mickung
Found this picture of a girl who was a very cute emo, but apparently not so any more according to her tumblr.

http://digital-urn.tumblr.com/

So I’ve had a few people ask me what I use to keep my bleached locks soft and in good condition, and I’ll let you know every secret now!

Products I use - (Please note that these were all the hair care products in my flat at the time, and I have many more that I love in my parents house, but I will review those in a separate post!)

Shampoo and Conditioners -

2

Herbal Essences Shampoo and conditioner for dry hair – I keep these in the bathroom and they always leave my hair feeling and smelling delicious.  My hair holds on to their fragrances really well which I love as I always get whiffs of lovelyness when I’m out and about.  I think Herbal essences are affordable, smell great and do the job of washing my hair and keeping it healthy.

T-Gel Shampoo – I use this twice a month max, only when my hair is behaving badly and getting greasy really quickly after washing.  I will shampoo my hair with this twice, then condition, and then my hair will be back to normal once again and I won’t need to use it for another few weeks.  I personally wouldn’t use it every time I wash my hair as its dry anyway and I don’t want it to strip all of the moisture out of my locks, but my housemate uses this every time she washes her hair and her barnet is lovely!

Aussie Three Minute Miracle conditioner – Probably my most purchased hair care product, I get through so many of them!  I use quite a few big handfuls of this as a conditioner and leave it in for five minutes whilst in the shower.  Smells gorgeous and I really feel like this product softens my hair and keeps it looking healthy and shiny.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Conditioner (Platinum to Champagne coloured hair) – I can’t actually speak of the ‘highlight activating-ness’ of this product as my hair is bleached anyway and I’ve never noticed a change in my hair colour after using this, but its a lovely, thick, creamy conditioner that sorts my hair out when its feeling dry.

Masks -

IMG_0874

Trevor Sorbie Ultimate Moisture Mask – I like to do hair masks whenever I remember (once or twice a month) and this is what I’ve been using recently and I adore it.  It smells divine and feels like a nice intense hair moisturizer.  Doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy after.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Hair Repair Conditioning Treatment – I just finished a tub of this - it smells great and really puts the moisture back in to my hair when it gets a little too dry or frizzy.

Leave in products -

IMG_0870

Prive Serum – I’ve raved SO much about this product already, your probably all bored of hearing it, but I’ve never been one to use a serum but this will now never leave my vanity table.  Its smoothes out flyaway's, split ends and general frizz and keeps my hair tame.  I use this on dry or wet hair, on the ends of my hair and occasionally swept over the top of my hair if its behaving badly.

Prive Leave-in treatment – A lovely leave in conditioner, nice and natural ingredients. Prive reviews here!

L’Oreal Elvive Nurti-Gloss Leave in conditioner – I’ve been using this for years now and I know I can rely on it to detangle my hair after its been washed.  I literally sweep a blob of this through knots and it makes my hair easier to comb through straight away.

Aussie Miracle Hair Care Insurance Leave in Conditioner – This smells lovely and detangles really well.  Its light so it won’t leave your hair feeling heavy or coated in products after you apply, which is good!

Katie’s Top Healthy Hair Tips -

1) Don’t use heat on your hair!!

Its a simple one but one I’m sure would be very hard to give up for most girls now days, but just don’t use heat on your barnet!  I have never been one to use straighteners, just because I don’t think poker straight hair suits me at all, and to be honest, I just can’t ever be bothered to straighten it.  The ONLY heat I use on my hair is a hair dryer and I use it once a week max.  This time last year I noticed that my hair was in quite bad condition and frizzy, so I stopped using my hair dryer, and within a month my hair was perfect again.  I can’t express how much of a difference it makes.  The only time I use my hair dryer is if I’m in a rush out and even then I’ll only blow dry my fringe and ends.  Try it out for yourself!

2) Leave your conditioner in for at least five minutes!

Conditioner makes SUCH a big difference to the softness of my hair so I always leave it in for at least five minutes in the shower/bath, if not longer.  Sounds difficult and time consuming but its really not – just shampoo your hair really quickly, wash it out, apply lots of conditioner and whilst you wait just shave and scrub!  Simple!  If you have more time, comb through your hair whilst the conditioner is on so it really reaches every lock.  In general, the longer I leave the conditioner on, the softer my hair is after.

3) Use a leave in conditioner to detangle and keep hair soft.

I always use a leave in conditioner to help detangle my matted hair after a bath and I pretty much rely on it to get rid of evil knots.  I just use a walnut size amount of either L’Oreal or Prive’s Leave in conditioner, and comb in through the underneath of my hair.  Makes it so much more manageable and keeps hair soft after its dried.

I hope this helps!  I have a few more favourite hair products which I’ll write about soon.

What do you use to keep your hair in good condition?  Have you got any tips?

My Hair Timeline!

Posted by mickung

I’ve always wanted to do one of these and the time has come!  I have been through quite a few different hair colours and looks and I’ve enjoyed digging through my old computer files to find pictures of them all!

So my natural hair colour is a mousy blonde – I haven’t had natural hair for seven years now so I can’t imagine it suiting me at all but I’d like to go back to a more natural honey beach-babe blonde soon.

Baby! – A natural blonde with a cute little bob!

lillme2

Aged 15 – My hair was reallllyyy long!  And it was all natural but I used to use a wash out red tint every now and then.  I really like this hair colour actually!

budsamara2

Aged 15 - Haha, how cringey!  This was just after I’d used a wash in red tint – it lasted about a month and I thought I looked well cool!

woshh

Aged 16 - I AM NEVER GOING TO LIVE THIS DOWN.  Please girls, never ever do as I did and try and do highlights yourself at home.  I am so embarrassed about these pictures!! I did this the day before I went on a school trip to Prague so I didn’t have time to change it.  I basically used a hairdryer to warm up the bleach on my roots and this is what I was left with. arggghh!!

May Download 051 May Download 052

Aged 16 – This was a while after I first bleached my hair (my friends and I did photo shoots in each others bedrooms for fun!).  I dyed the underneath of my hair black and I let my friends chop short layers in to give my hair some volume.  Once I was this colour I felt that I was finally ‘myself’, I didn’t feel the need to change it anymore and I felt confident and really happy in my appearance.

Aged 17 – Obsessed with Mary Kate Olsen, I decided one day at school that I wanted to copy her and go brunette (as she was at the time).  I ran home from school and dyed it and regretted it instantly!  I wasn’t too clued up on makeup although I loved doing smokey eyes, but I just had no idea how to wear makeup with this colour!  The blonde made the smokey eyes look good but I didn’t know how to wear it being a brunette.  I wish I’d had learnt to fill my brows in etc because I think it would have made me feel so much better!

IMG_0042 1 (2)

Aged 17 – I went back to blonde a month later!! I couldn’t resist lovely long blonde locks and bleached it.  I used a toner as well to take the orange out, but it wasn’t a very nice blonde, more of a dirty blonde.  I kept the brown underneath my hair.

IMGP2854 156138888_l

Aged 19 – Still blonde, I decided I was bored so I let my friends cut my hair shoulder length!  It was like a fresh start and was in much better condition afterwards!

l_e7d239a44a36bfe7e8a5e193b88ba055 n612580544_1536934_6496

NOW! (Aged 22) – My hair is in good condition despite bleaching the roots once a month and I’m very happy with it.  I don’t have any layers as I let them all grow out, and I decided to let my natural hair colour grow out underneath so that I could see what it looks like now!!  (You can see that natural colour in this post).

I do think that I need some layers cut in because often my hair looks very flat, but I’m too scared to go to a hairdresser!

1

All in all I’m really happy with my hair, but I can’t help but wonder what I’d look like with natural, beach blonde babe hair, which one day I will do (when I’m brave enough!).  I think I get judged quite a lot when I first meet new people because of my hair colour, which I don’t like, and I think I might get treated a bit more seriously with natural coloured hair!

There you have it!  My entire hair timeline, I hope you enjoyed it and had a good laugh at all my hair mishaps!!

What was your worst hair style?  Have you made your own hair time? Show me!

There it is, from the man himself.

According to Sankakucomplex's site, "Bleach’s author Tite Kubo is apparently set on keeping Bleach going for at least another 10 years, remarking that it is only halfway through.

Kubo’s remarks were reported by 2ch-frequenting attendees of the recently held Jump Festa, where he took the stage to talk about his creation:
“It’s about halfway through the story at the moment.
[...]
At the very least, I’ll be doing it for another 10 years.”

Another version has him being asked “So will you be keeping it going for the next 30 years?” to which he responds “I think I’d like to make it a bit shorter than that,” with the other speaker quipping that “It should be continuing for at least another 10 years!”

Both accounts agree on him saying he is about half done however, which for a 10-year-old title would rather suggest another 10 years to go.

Reactions to all this are mixed to say the least, ranging from enthused to horrified…"

Well.... O_O as long as it doesn't become Dragon Ball GT, I don't know what to think right now, really.

The fight between Aizen and Ichigo continues until Gin interferes! We've got also two filler episodes that will tie in with the December premiere of the upcoming fourth movie Bleach: Jigoku Hen or Hell Chapter.

November 9 - 296. TBA

November 16 - 297. The Extending Blade?! Ichigo vs. Gin!

November 23 - 298. Film! Festival! Shinigami Film Festival!

November 30 - 299. Theatre Opening Commemoration! Hell Chapter・Prologue

December 7 - 300. Urahara Appears! Stop Aizen!

These types of characters can be quite common in some shonen manga. Bokkuko girls are basically tomboys that serve as sidekicks and can also play the role of the female heroine along with their hero counterpart.

They can be physically slim, with short hair, skinny and flat chested, yet also have particular skills that you would normally expect from their male counterpart. (Shonen manga can be a bit mysoginistic when it comes to delimiting specific roles by gender, so don't shoot the messenger here XD)

At least we know that these delimitations by gender are changing.

Good examples would be Tatsuki Arisawa from Bleach, or Tenten and Sakura from Naruto.

These type of characters have evolved into strong female characters that don't necessarilly have to be the less appealing, quite the contrary, in fact.

Look at Yuzuriha from Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas. In the original manga, she would have just been another side character as Marin and Shaina with little to almost no development. But she has a key role in helping her friends to achieve all the misions through Hades' Inferno.

This is what the author of Bleach said in an interview regarding Orihime Inoue, the second most impopular character in the Bleach fandom, and added that if people don't like his story and how things are developing around the character, then they can choose to not read it.

This is the link to original interview by 2ch, although it is in Japanese and translation is always difficult.

What do you think? I really have nothing against Inoue-san, it's just that they pumped her too much in the anime, pairing her with Ichigo, in a sort of 'princess and the prince' way.

Cute Big Hair

Big hair ...too cute!

Tv Tokyo has announced that the fourth Bleach movie, titled Gekijouban Bleach: Jigoku-hen, which translates to Bleach: Hell Chapter, will open on theaters in Japan on December 4th. The manga's author, Kubo Tite, is personally supervising the project.

The poster looks spectacular!!

This reminds me a little of the Saint Seiya Hades saga! I think there's a parallel here given that Kubo also loves that manga!

How I bleach my hair!

Posted by mickung

This has been very long awaited and I apologise!  I only do my roots once a month so I had to wait till I was next in need of a top up before I could take some pictures!

I always, always get questions asking what I use to bleach my hair, how I do it, who does it for me etc, so I hope this helps every body who is thinking about taking the leap and turning blonde!

Here is what I use – Jerome Russell’s Bblonde powder and cream peroxide bleach!

hairbleach 099

You can get this from any local chemist, as well as Boots and Superdrug.  The pack of four sachets of powder bleach normally retails at around £5 and the individual cream peroxides retail at around £1.40

I used to use the 30% Vol Cream peroxide, but it went off the market for ages so I had to keep buying 40%, which is obviously stronger, but it makes my roots a tad whiter so I now generally use this more!

I have been peroxide blonde since the age of 16.  My friend and I went to a chemist and decided to ‘try something different’ and she transformed my mousy blonde hair into a blonde bombshell worthy barnet that evening in her bathroom!  She very kindly kept bleaching my roots every month until she moved to Spain two years ago, and ever since then my lovely Mother has taken on the dreaded role of bleaching my roots (Thanks Mummy!).  My mum is not a hair dresser, and I don’t believe you need to be to do this at home, you just need general knowledge and bravery to go for it and cover all the roots.

Here is my step by step guide!

YOU WILL NEED -

hairbleach 102

  • -3 latex or rubber gloves (two for the hands of your hair dresser, one for you for the itchy bleach!)
  • An old unused bowl
  • A hair bleach applicator (can usually be found in chemists for 50p!)
  • A hair clip
  • An old unused towel
  • Jerome Russel Bleach!

As I have the underneath layer of my hair brown (I decided to let my natural colour grow through as I haven't seen it in 5 years), I need to firstly separate the brown from the blonde.  So I use cling film and a hair band!

hairbleach 110

My kind Mother separates the blonde from the brown, plaits it, then curls it up and wraps it in cling film so that the bleach can’t get to it.

HOW TO -

1) Mix powder sachet with cream peroxide bottle and stir until frothy and smooth.

hairbleach 112

2) Slap it on the roots! (or whole hair if you are starting from scratch!)

hairbleach 114

3) Keep going.  Lift sections of hair and paint the bleach on, and keep at it until the whole head of roots is covered!

hairbleach 118

hairbleach 127

4) Once the whole head of hair is covered, clip up on the top of your head!

hairbleach 131

hairbleach 132

Okay, now for doing this for so long, I don’t really need to look at the time.  I know that it take approx 20-30 minutes for the product to be put on, and then I normally wait another excruciating 15-25minutes before I wash it off.  I will tell you now that this whole process SUCKS, because it itches like hell!!! The bleach is so aggravating, it feels like a hundred thousand tiny ants are moving around in your hair, itching and stinging you.  This is why I always wear a glove, so that I can itch when I need to.

I wash it off with an intense shampoo and conditioner for dry hair, normally something like Aussie.  I leave the conditioner in for at least 3 minutes after bleaching just to make my hair feel soft again.

AND VOILA – I now have nice, bright white blond hair!

hairbleach 159

I am very lucky to have strong, healthy, thick hair naturally.  As long as I use a good conditioner every time I wash my hair, then it looks and feels healthy and soft.  However I know many people who have dry, brittle hair from bleaching, so I really suggest trying the bleach on a small patch of hair before you go right in and bleach your whole head.

When you first bleach your hair, you will probably need to use a toner.  Jerome Russell also has a hair toner in its range, which basically takes the ‘orange/yellow’ tint out of the bleached hair so that your blonde locks don’t look ginger in certain lights.  I don’t have to use this as my natural hair colour is blonde anyway, and holds onto the bleach pretty well, but I did use it when first going blonde.

I hope this helps any one who needs some advice on going blonde!  I adore being blonde and can’t imagine myself with any other hair colour.  I love how I can play around with exaggerated make-up looks because my hair colour allows it and it certainly gets a lot of attention.

Has this helped anyone at all? If anyone needs any more advice or has any more questions then just let me know, send me a comment on this post!

P.S Sorry for the very unattractive, un-glamorous pictures in this post, keeping up the glamorous blonde locks unfortunately isn’t as pretty as it may seem!
