Those of you who have seen a few of my outfit posts will have noticed I have a tattoo on my foot.  In actual fact, I have three, I got my third just last month!

Its a Snooks family tradition that on my Grandma’s (<3) death day (20th April) we get something significant done to our bodies – one year my Mum got a tattoo, the next both of my parents got a belly piercing etc.  For a while now I’ve been wanting another tattoo (they are extremely addictive) and I convinced both of my parents to have them with me (I have THE best/coolest rents ever, huh!).

I knew that I wanted lyrics, Morrissey/The Smiths lyrics to be precise so it was just a case of choosing the actual lyrics, the font and deciding on placement.  I decided on song words from The Smiths ‘Handsome Devil’.  I absolutely ADORE Morrissey and The Smiths – I was brought up listening to their songs and going to see Moz in concert and his songs rubbed off on me!  I love the quote I chose, its completely ‘me’.  In terms of placement, I knew that I wanted it either on my side or back, and I chose to justify the quote to the right and have it on my right side.  Here’s a photograph.

1

I absolutely adore it.  My tattoo artist did such a good job writing very gently – I didn’t want it to be too big, I wanted it quite dainty and he managed it (although he said afterwards that it was like writing on a grain of rice!).

And my other tattoo’s -

3

This was my first tattoo.  I got it on my 18th birthday as a present from my parents and its on my foot.  I love having a foot tattoo, especially when I wear heels.  One line above does need touching up but apart from that its perfect!

hiptat1

This was my second and its on my hip and travels down towards my lady parts (sorry about the bikini shot – I realised I don’t have ANY pictures of the placement of it apart from this cringy photograph.  Its just to give you an idea of where it is)!  They’re roses and not many people know I have this tattoo, its kind of a secret thing.  I didn’t want any colour in this, or in any of my other tattoo’s, I’d prefer them to have a similar look/theme and I want them to look gentle and feminine, not too loud.  I had this tattoo and the one above done by the same man, Ivan, at my local tattoo studio – I absolutely adore his style of tattooing and how detailed they both are, but unfortunately he left last year and so I got another guy who I like and trust in the same studio to do my most recent.  If I ever do decide to get another then I’d definitely go back to him.  (In the coloured photograph above it looks kinda blue, but its actually black!)

AFTERCARE

For the first two weeks after having your tattoo done, your supposed to wash it gently with a damp cloth and apply a moisturizer straight after, about 2-3 times a day.  I’m very obsessive about this and make sure its always moisturized – it will heal quicker this way and won’t be too itchy when it comes to scab off, and it won’t peel too much.

aftercare

Bepanthen – this is actually a nappy rash cream but it works incredibly for using for the first week after you’ve had it done.  Its super soft and the formula is thick, creamy and moisturizing.  It doesn’t have a scent but because its white and thick it may transfer onto some of your clothes – this isn’t a problem, you can always wipe it off.

Tattoo Goo – This is probably a bit of a con because its really similar to Vaseline or any other moisturizing jelly, but it contains olive oil, wheat germ oil, cocoa butter, lavender oil, beeswax etc – all great natural ingredients to help repair and moisturize the skin.  This is good because its clear it doesn’t transfer onto clothes.

E45/Aqueous Cream – everyone has probably used this before once in their life and you can use the little tubes of it on your tattoo, preferably in the second week, after a first week of using something more thick and intense.  Good to carry around on you for dry patches, etc anyway.

In the second week after having the tattoo, my artist recommended using any kind of moisturizer that you know you don’t react you or have any problems with – for me this would be any of The Body Shop’s Body Butters (Cocoa Butter pictured above), Vaseline’s Coca Butter moisturizing oil, Korres Quince Body Butter etc.

Your tattoo should heal pretty quickly if you keep it moisturized.  Mine healed super quick (because the writing was so gentle I think), it took just over a week and a half.

So that’s a quick over view of my tattoos and my tips and products to encourage it heals nicely!

Do you have any tattoos? What did you use to heal them?

Look of the day #1

Posted by mickung

My first proper look of the day, outfit/makeup post! I’ve been wanting to do one for a while but I couldn’t work out which angles would be best for shooting outfits in my room, but I finally worked this one out.

I’m wearing this to go to the Theatre in London tonight, we’re seeing the Wizard of Oz. Me, my mum and sis loved the show where they auditioned the Dorothy’s last year and now its finished we can’t wait to see what it’ll be like. In terms of my outfit choice, I always seem to wear black! I can’t help it, I think its because my hair and skin is so pale, that I need to balance it out with darker clothes.

ook1

Black Vest top – Marks and Spencer’s, Black leggings – Primark, Cardigan with gold detailing – Primark, Shoes – River Island

2

(Sorry about the smudge on my leg in the image above – I took the photograph of my shoes in a mirror which obviously needs a wipe!) I’ve been wearing false stick on nails for the past four days and I LOVE them. They are by Kiss Nails and you literally just glue them and stick ‘em on. I love the neat French manicure style and my hands feel very feminine. I will do an in detailed post and review of them in the next few weeks.

3

Eyes – MAC Nylon eyeshadow, Sleek’s Bad Girl Palette – the purple shades, GOSH Velvet Touch eyeliner in Black Ink, TBS Supervolume Mascara

Cheeks – Rouge Bunny Rouge As if it were Summer Still Bronzer, TBS Blusher in #05

Lips – Barry M lipsticks in #147 and #54

I decided to go for a hint of colour in today’s eye makeup, and so I added a tad of purple in with my smokey eyes, especially underneath my eyes. I added a purple eyeshadow on top of my black kohl eyeliner which gives a nice pop! I also fancied teaming the purple with orange lips, cue Barry M! A bit drying but I’ll add a touch of balm later!

Life in general:

Ins –

  • Handing dissertation in, finally!!!! I’m now an expert on Victorian death photographs (memento mori), the Cottingley fairies case and spirit photography.
  • Final Major Project finally coming together. I still have lots of work to do but I’m getting there.
  • Cadburys chocolate fingers and wispa choc yoghurts, both incredible, I’ve been addicted.
  • Blogger events – I love them! I get to meet fellow bloggers and learn about new products, its so much fun. I have a few coming up in the next month so I’ll update you as they happen.

Outs -

  • Everyone's feeling down – Some of my close friends have been feeling really down lately (including myself) and I hate it! I hate seeing people I care about in a low mood so I’ve been trying to make them happier.
  • Money – I always have money problems, they are never going awayyyy!!!!
  • How big my bed is and how I have no one to share it with!
  • Being short – I’ve been wearing heels a lot because I hate my height at the moment. I’m only 4’1'1’’ and I feel like everyone treats me like a little girl because of it, ugh!

Does anyone else detest their height atm? What colour do you wear most often? Been to the theatre lately?

Ghost Hunting…

Posted by mickung

This will be a slightly different post – it’s not about beauty or makeup, but about what I’ve been up to and the work that I’ve recently been creating!

Those of you who follow my Twitter will know that for my Final Major Project (in my BA Photography Degree at LCC), I’ve been ghost hunting!  I’ve always been fascinated with the supernatural and ghosts, haunted houses, séances etc and so to spend a whole year ghost hunting for a project has been very exciting for me.

For the first part of my ghost hunting adventure I travelled to England’s ‘Most Haunted Village’, Pluckley in Kent, and I visited the sites of where the village’s 12 ghosts have been seen.  I photographed the ‘haunted landscapes’ on a digital, film and disposable camera, hoping for some proof of the afterlife or some spectral beings to appear in my images!  I’ll show you a few photographs that I took there -

1 2675

In the photograph below I definitely think I have photographed some sort of paranormal activity.  Can any of you see the ghost(s)???

34

Many people can see the faint outline of a man with his back to the camera, behind the bridge (supposedly haunted by the watercress lady).  I can also see another outline next to him, maybe his partner?  WHO ELSE CAN SEE HIM?

I also got another picture of a scary face at the same bridge -

And an aura that I captured on my digital camera in a haunted pub, The Dering Arms -

IMG_0368

(Please note that NONE of the photographs above have been edited in any way, shape or form other than the red circles/arrows pointing to the ghosts, and the accidental over contrast of the first image– I have not faked any of them!)

Recently, for the same project I’ve been experimenting with performing to the camera (I love doing self portraits as I don’t need to rely on anyone but myself and I can get exactly what I want out of each picture).  I’ve been trying to play around with paranormal activities, such as levitating, which you can see a preview of below -

LEVITATION1

There we have it – a sneak peak of some of the work I’ve been busy creating!  The project is not finished just yet and I only have a month and two weeks left to shoot everything, so I hope you can forgive me for not posting as much latelyI will definitely be posting more often after my degree finishes in June!

A lot of you are probably now thinking – OHMGZ SHE CRAZAAY.  I’m not, well, okay, I am probably just a little mental, trying to prove the existence of ghosts.  I do believe in the paranormal, although I can’t say that I’ve yet seen an actual ghost yet, so I’m becoming less scared of the unknown, which is good.  But hopefully in the next few weeks of shooting I’ll capture something scary on camera!  Please wish me luck finding some ghouls!!!

Have you ever seen a ghost or experienced something paranormal?  Can you see the ghosts in my images?  Got any scary stories?

My Hair Timeline!

Posted by mickung

I’ve always wanted to do one of these and the time has come!  I have been through quite a few different hair colours and looks and I’ve enjoyed digging through my old computer files to find pictures of them all!

So my natural hair colour is a mousy blonde – I haven’t had natural hair for seven years now so I can’t imagine it suiting me at all but I’d like to go back to a more natural honey beach-babe blonde soon.

Baby! – A natural blonde with a cute little bob!

lillme2

Aged 15 – My hair was reallllyyy long!  And it was all natural but I used to use a wash out red tint every now and then.  I really like this hair colour actually!

budsamara2

Aged 15 - Haha, how cringey!  This was just after I’d used a wash in red tint – it lasted about a month and I thought I looked well cool!

woshh

Aged 16 - I AM NEVER GOING TO LIVE THIS DOWN.  Please girls, never ever do as I did and try and do highlights yourself at home.  I am so embarrassed about these pictures!! I did this the day before I went on a school trip to Prague so I didn’t have time to change it.  I basically used a hairdryer to warm up the bleach on my roots and this is what I was left with. arggghh!!

May Download 051 May Download 052

Aged 16 – This was a while after I first bleached my hair (my friends and I did photo shoots in each others bedrooms for fun!).  I dyed the underneath of my hair black and I let my friends chop short layers in to give my hair some volume.  Once I was this colour I felt that I was finally ‘myself’, I didn’t feel the need to change it anymore and I felt confident and really happy in my appearance.

jords birthday 054ahhh2

Aged 17 – Obsessed with Mary Kate Olsen, I decided one day at school that I wanted to copy her and go brunette (as she was at the time).  I ran home from school and dyed it and regretted it instantly!  I wasn’t too clued up on makeup although I loved doing smokey eyes, but I just had no idea how to wear makeup with this colour!  The blonde made the smokey eyes look good but I didn’t know how to wear it being a brunette.  I wish I’d had learnt to fill my brows in etc because I think it would have made me feel so much better!

IMG_0042 1 (2)

Aged 17 – I went back to blonde a month later!! I couldn’t resist lovely long blonde locks and bleached it.  I used a toner as well to take the orange out, but it wasn’t a very nice blonde, more of a dirty blonde.  I kept the brown underneath my hair.

IMGP2854 156138888_l

Aged 19 – Still blonde, I decided I was bored so I let my friends cut my hair shoulder length!  It was like a fresh start and was in much better condition afterwards!

l_e7d239a44a36bfe7e8a5e193b88ba055 n612580544_1536934_6496

NOW! (Aged 22) – My hair is in good condition despite bleaching the roots once a month and I’m very happy with it.  I don’t have any layers as I let them all grow out, and I decided to let my natural hair colour grow out underneath so that I could see what it looks like now!!  (You can see that natural colour in this post).

I do think that I need some layers cut in because often my hair looks very flat, but I’m too scared to go to a hairdresser!

1

All in all I’m really happy with my hair, but I can’t help but wonder what I’d look like with natural, beach blonde babe hair, which one day I will do (when I’m brave enough!).  I think I get judged quite a lot when I first meet new people because of my hair colour, which I don’t like, and I think I might get treated a bit more seriously with natural coloured hair!

There you have it!  My entire hair timeline, I hope you enjoyed it and had a good laugh at all my hair mishaps!!

What was your worst hair style?  Have you made your own hair time? Show me!

Stargazer Star Pearl Eyeshadow in Peach Flush

Amazing price, great quality, gorgeous colour – everyone should have this eyeshadow!  I’ve been wearing this lots as my base colour for the rest of my eyeshadow and I love it.  My last one cracked so I went out and bought a new one and I’m glad I did.

Barry M Lipstick in #150

My newest lipstick which I adore – a gorgeous natural, moisturizing, pink brown colour which you can see swatches of in my last post here.  I’ve been wearing this lots recently as I find it easy to wear with any of my clothes.

Prive Hair Serum

I was recently introduced to the Prive hair care range, created entirely by a session stylist to the stars!  I adore this serum – I apply it to the ends of my hair when its dry or damp, and I pay special attention to the bits of my hair that are dry from bleach.  It really leaves my hair feeling silky smooth, and the product is made from natural ingredients – what more can I ask for!  I’ve been using a whole hair regime from Prive so will post what I think of it in the next few weeks!

Bourjois Eye glitter in #22 & #23

I used to use these every single day a few years ago and I’ve just rediscovered them, just in time for Christmas and the sparkly season.  They are beautiful powdered glitters that come in a little pot with a brush in the lid.  I have one in silver and one in gold and I use them under my brow bone to highlight and they really do look beautiful.  Will be using these for months to come!

Topshop Cream Blusher in Neon Rose

Blusher is so important in the winter months to keep me from looking pasty and frozen, so I’ve been using my favourite Rogue Bunny Rogue bronzer with a smidgen of Neon Rose dabbed on top – keeps me looking rosy and fresh throughout the cold days!  This cream blush is going to last me forever – I only need the tiniest bit, its great value.  (You can see my swatches of my Topshop cream blushers here)

Superdrug body spray

Whenever I go back to my home in Essex my sister introduces me to a new body spray, and recently they have been these Superdrug own brand sprays.  They smell SO GOOD.  Especially Flirty and Delicious – I can’t describe them, both are gorgeous fragrances and last surprisingly well on the skin.  I’m one to forget to put perfume on, so these are great and light to carry around in my bag to spritz up in the day!  And at only 99p each, you can’t' go wrong!

(Does anyone remember how amazing Impulse body sprays used to be, back in the day?  They were incredible, my favourites were vanilla and the limited edition Spice Girls one they did back in the 90s!  Did anyone else have these? Sadly they don’t make the vanilla anymore – such a shame!  If anybody knows of any vanilla body sprays let me know!)

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Oil

I’m on a bit of a cocoa butter frenzy at the moment!  Girls, if you love a chocolaty, sweet body fragrances or moisturizers then you will fall in love with this, just like I have.  I was browsing in Boots ages ago, sniffed this curiously, not really paying attention and I nearly died out of love for this scent – its amazing, go sniff it!  Its nice as a body oil, does leave you pretty greasy, but it moisturizes well after a bath and leaves me feeling soft and smelling gorgeous for hours!

The Body Shop’s Lightening Touch in #03

I’ve been using this product for about three years now and sometimes I don’t know what I’d do without it!  I’ve never had to even bother trying YSL’s Touch Eclat because this is basically the same thing for half the price.  I’ve been using it a lot this month because I’ve had lots of late nights and the dark circles/bags under my eyes are paying for it!  I tap a few dots of this under each eye, and then pat it in with my ring finger.  I also pop some on any redness on my face and down the center of my nose just to highlight.  It covers my bags well and includes light particles to bounce light back off to create an airbrushed illusion.  #03 is the perfect shade for me as and my pale skin!

favs

I’ve also filmed my first video for you tube!  I really want to get into filming videos, but I’ve attempted doing a tutorial before and ended up with mascara all over my face (haha!!) , so this first video is just to ease me in to the video-community and here you can watch me waffle on for ten minutes about what’s in my bag!  Haha!  I’ve had a request to do a tutorial on how to do the makeup I’m wearing in my blog header so that’ll be the next video that I do (I’ll film it next week!).  I hope you enjoy this!

If you have any other requests for things I could film then let me know!

ALSO – I want to say a MASSIVE thank you for everyone who commented on my last post, about my favourite books.  I’d had it written out for a month but didn’t post it because I didn’t think any one would be interested, but I’m so overwhelmed with the response!  Thank you to everyone who recommended me a new book and I really hope you enjoy the books that I’ve inspired you to read!

What were your favourite products from November, do you have any video requests for me and what’s your favourite body spray?

Books! (Part one)

Posted by mickung

It might come as a surprise but I am a complete geek and bookworm.  I adore reading and I always have a book on the go, whether it be fantasy, fictional or novels.  Every Christmas or Birthday list of mine is mostly compiled of books and its an absolute must for me to read at least 12 books at every age (if that makes sense!).

In the past few years I’ve read some incredible stories, many of which have become firm favourites and I’d love to pass a list of some of my favourites on to you guys!

november 121

The selection I’ve chosen today are books which I think are perfect to read during the autumn/winter months, in front of the fire with a chai tea, whilst its freezing outdoors, but I’ve also popped in a few of my favourites that I read this summer.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by by Jeff Lindsay

dexter

If any of you haven’t watched the Dexter TV series by now, you absolutely must!!! I’ve been an avid Dexter fan for the past three years now and I can’t get enough of the show.  I have converted all of my friends to Dexter lovers and I honestly have never met a person who hasn’t adored it.  Anyway, because of the show I was given the trilogy book for Christmas a few years ago.  The TV show was based on the books by Jeff Lindsay and if you like serial killers, murders and a bit of comedy in your books you’ll really like this read.  However, the book has a few differences to the show (which I won’t spoil for you) but I’ll say now that the programme is better than the book – but the book is fab for a quick read!

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (Not pictured above on shelf)

thehistorian2

One of my favourite books ever because its wonderfully written and it opened my eyes to a different type of book.  Before I read this I read many comedic novels (see Running with Scissors) and general books but this completely changed what I went for after.  This story is incredible and its told through letters and diary entry's of a father and a daughter, who go in search of Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) in modern day times.  I adore everything about this book – the history of the real life Dracula, how the story is told, the characters etc.  I have always wanted to be a detective (from a very young age – odd I know) and this book completely reinforced my desire to go out and have adventures, spend my time researching in libraries and travel the world to uncover mysteries.  I would recommend this to absolutely everyone!

Dracula by Bram Stoker

dracula

Once you read The Historian, I thoroughly recommend reading Stoker’s Dracula.  The Historian fills you in on most of the language and back stories of the legend of Dracula, so this book becomes a much easier read.  I now adore Dracula, its language, and how its told (again) though letters, newspaper clippings and diary entries.  The imagery conjured from the language of the book is beautiful and you may grow very attached to each character.  I adore that the majority of the book is set in old London.  Its a classic tale and a much better one of vampires than that of The Twilight Saga (but don’t get me wrong – I read the whole four book in the series and loved the first and last) but this tale is a great read, albeit a harder one.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

frakenstein

Another classic gothic novel (I got a bit addicted to them this summer).  Before reading this I had never seen a film about Frankenstein, nor knew anything about it, and the book was completely different to how I imagined it to be.  Frankenstein (a young professor at university) gets completely obsessed with the idea of creating life and animation out of nothing, and he succeeds but instantly regrets it when he realises how ugly and disgusting the life he created was.  So he runs and we are told the tale from many different points of views.  I’ll admit that I now adore Frankenstein’s Monster (even though he is always portrayed evil) and I’d recommend to those who want a quick but great read.

Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane

shutterisland

One of my favourite books from two years ago – Shutter Island has now been made into a film (starring Leo) and the book is just fab.  Again, it made me want to be a detective!  The story line is gripping and eerie and the twist at the end was pretty great so if you haven’t seen the film then read this.

Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs

runningiwthscissors

Augusten Burroughs is one of my top three favourite authors, I have every book of his now and I adore them.  He mainly writes memoirs and this particular book is of his childhood.  His mother sent him to live with her crazy psychiatrist and this book explains his time living there and recalls all the mad things that happened.  Some parts of the book are hilarious – laugh out loud hilarious, but other parts of this are quite sad – his parents relationship and just the odd situations that Augusten happens to fall into.  This is a great book for laughing with and I’m sure it’ll get you hooked to Burroughs and his other memoirs!  (This is also now a film – but read the book first!)

The History of Love by Nicola Krauss

historyoflove

I read this over the summer in a few days and I love it.  At the moment I’ve got a thing for books which inspire me to live my life to the fullest and this is definitely one of these.  The History of Love is written through two different main characters – a grumpy old man called Leo Gursky and a young girl called Alma – who are in someway connected yet we aren’t sure how until the end.  A quote which sums this book up – “a novel in the form of a homage to things lost, as well as to unsolved mysteries”.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

 lookingforlaska

Another one I read this summer – about a guy, Miles, who goes to boarding school.  He meets Alaska Young, who he is blown away by and they become close friends.  The book is told in two parts – before and after, but I’ll leave it to you to read it to find out what happens.  This book made me cry (I’m very soppy) and it’s made me look forward to meeting someone new and the butterflies and excitement you get with crushes.

There we have it – Part one of my book recommendations.  It was only after I took the photographs for this post when I realised that I missed out my two favourite books ever, by the author Mitch Albom, but they will come in part two – probably sometime in the new year!  I hope you enjoyed this (surprised if you read it all!) and I’m sorry its quite a different post!

Will you be asking for any of these books for Christmas or have you read any of them?  What are your favourite books, recommend them to me and I’ll put them on my Xmas list!!

October Favourites!

Posted by mickung

I was a very naughty bunny last month and I didn’t do my September favourites!!  I didn’t think there was any point as I spent three weeks of September stuck inside my house with no makeup on after having my tonsils out, but I’m back this month with loads of favourites!!

IMG_0626

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara

You can read my full review of this mascara HERE.  Its all I have been wearing all month and I adore it, it makes my lashes lovely and thick and I have had no reason to use any other mascara this month.

MACs Chatterbox Lipstick

Bought this ages ago but never used it until this month!  I love the shade and tone of this pink lippie and I feel that a slick of it instantly makes me look and feel feminine and pretty.  Goes really well with my blonde hair and a great way to add some colour to my usual black wardrobe.

MAC UNKNOWN Blush

This is my housemates and I have been using it at every chance I get!  I desperately want to get one of my own, but the writing on the back has rubbed off and we can’t tell what shade it is! PANIC!! My housemate even took it to a MAC store and asked a SA to match it up but even she couldn’t work it out, making us worry that this shade has been discontinued.  I have a slight feeling it may be Melba but I can’t be sure.  DOES ANYONE KNOW!?

Its the most beautiful pink peach shade, but it is matt and so pigmented that you only need the tiniest bit to warm your face up.  I NEED this blush for myself, help!!

IMG_0608

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Worker

My hair has been so dry recently and I’m starting to panic that bits are snapping off!  Thankfully I always have this Miracle worker to hand and its restored my hair somewhat.  It definitely feels a lot more soft and nourished since I’ve been using this twice a week!

The Body Shop’s Cranberry Hand lotion

Perfect size for carrying around in my bag and it smells delicious!! Cranberry really reminds me of Christmas as it only comes out in the Limited Edition Christmas range at TBS, so I stock up on the range whenever it comes out.  This is the first year that TBS have done hand creams in the Christmas scents and I’m glad they did.  At £3 as well its really affordable!

The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Body Butter

I think its because of stress with the amount of Uni work I’m under, that my eczema has really flared up all over my arms and shoulders - cringe.  I’d never used Cocoa Butter before on the dry patches so I decided to give it a try and its definitely keeping my arms soft and less itchy.  I really like the smell and the thickness of it is perfect for my dry skin.  I’ll be using this all winter to keep my skin soft and supple!

The Body Shops Vanilla and Nutmeg Lip balm

Another Limited Edition Christmas product, this one is last years Vanilla lip balm and I can’t get enough.  The smell is amazing, it moisturizes my lips in this cold weather and it adds a shine and gloss to my lips which I adore.  I keep applying this on top of my favourite lipsticks also.

Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Suede

On nights out or when I’m going out to fancy meals I’ll use this lipstick.  Its the ultimate red, matte, glamour-puss colour.  I love this lipstick because it literally lasts all night without needing to reapply it – even after eating.  The colour is perfect, the tube is slick, I can’t find any faults with this!

 IMG_0599

Misguided Nail varnish MissCellaneous Nude Nail Splash

This varnish came out in last month’s Cosmopolitan magazine and I needed it after seeing it on a few blogs.  I adore it and its all I’ve been wearing all month.  Its a lovely nude for my pale skin, its really plain but I love having bare looking nails.

Loving –

  • The weather! I love everything about autumn – the golden, falling, crunchy leaves, spicy chai tea in the evenings, burning cinnamon candles in my home, carving pumpkins, lighting sparklers – autumn and winter are such romantic seasons although I’m pretty gutted I have no one to share this Christmas with!
  • Food – having to cook for myself every night can be draining but I’ve loved experimenting recently.  My most used ingredients being avocados, homous, feta cheese, olives, basmati rice, meatballs!
  • Photography – another year at uni, another few months spending my time shooting endlessly and letting my creativity flow.  This month I’ll be spending many hours of each day in the darkroom – one of my favourite places to be, developing film, printing pictures and spending time alone, making art and thinking to myself!
  • Family – I have the most amazing parents ever and I am entirely grateful for their love and support in everything I do.  I wouldn’t be half the person I am without them.  I can talk to them about anything and they are always there for me, if I’m down I know that they're only a phone call away to cheer me up.  They even let me gatecrash their 23rd first date anniversary last weekend to take me ghost hunting in a haunted village in England for my university project – amazing!

Loathing –

  • Too much work!! – The next two weeks are going to be extremely busy for me, its unreal.  I have a Dissertation Outline due, an Auction & Print Sale at my university to organize, two acting jobs (one in Bournemouth & the other in Suffolk), and overtime hours at The Body Shop.  I’m going to really suffer and get drained emotionally and physically, but I’m determined to get it all done.
  • Housework – House visitors + takeaway pizza + Lots of vino = lots of washing to do & sticky floors!  I can’t stand the mess, even though the most of it has already been done, but I don’t have any time to finish!

I hope everyone is well and having a good autumn so far!

Did you enjoy my favourites and Loving & Loathing's?  Are any of the above your current favourites as well?

AND what shade do you think the MAC blush is???!!
